Newcomers is resuming some Activities!
While the health and safety of our members is of paramount importance, Newcomers has begun to gradually resume both online and outdoor activities.
The Golf Group resumed their monthly outing in July with great success. A socially-distanced visit to Stagville Plantation was held on July 8th. More in-person outdoor activities and events will be added when deemed safe.
For each outdoor activity, the Covid-19 policy of the selected location will be reviewed and then posted on the calendar so that members can decide whether they’re comfortable with the precautions taken by the venue.
Online activities on Zoom have been extremely popular, with more being added to the calendar each month. The Men’s Lunch group has become Men Having Happy Hour. Afternoon Book Club, Mah Jongg, Sociable Singles, Documentary Films, Women Who Lunch and Women Connecting Coffee are now shown on the calendar in Yellow.
We are looking at additional, interesting presentations on Zoom, from educational presentations to cooking classes and are eager to hear from members who have great ideas.
We know that it will take time, but your Board is dedicated to finding fun things to do as our world recuperates from Covid-19. So keep your eye on the calendar and be sure to sign up for Interest Groups so that you’ll always see emails announcing activities.
We’ll be back!

Membership in Newcomers is a great way to meet new people and learn about places to go and things to do in the Triangle. We are a welcoming group to all.
Our monthly Meet & Greet is an informal way to meet members and learn about club activities and special events. They are held on the first Monday of each month from 5:30-7:00 PM at the Carolina Inn in Chapel Hill. There is no charge and no need to register. If you plan to come, please let us know and email our membership chair (email@example.com) so that we can properly welcome you.
Members build a network of friends by taking part in social activities and interest groups whether it is hiking or wine tasting, a book club, a lunch or game group. If you click on the following icon, you can see the monthly schedule for regular club events prior to COVID-19:
