Spring 2026 Newsletter

Its been an active Winter session and it looks like that will continue into the next few months.

We're excited to welcome Donna Hatcher into her new role of Activities VP, and Hope Skilling who has stepped in to help coordinate the Singles Lunch activity.

Our regularly scheduled sessions - The Afternoon Book Groups , the Mystery Group, Non-Fiction and the newly added Literary Book group all saw lively and engaged discussions. The Lunch Groups also brought members together at diverse locations. Mah Jongg saw a surge of interest as several members have opted to learn the new game. Table, our volunteer activity, continued at a steady space, and our TGIF events remain as popular as ever.  And while our golfers and hikers continued thru the rough weather, they are looking forward to spring.

We saw a whole lot of additional activities. On the fun list was last month's Mardi Gras event that saw us decked out in our beads and masks, the Square Dancing class and a visit to the Moorehead Planetarium. The very well attended discussion on Generative AI and Chat GPT gave us a lot to think about, as did the visit to the International Civil Rights Museum in Greensboro and the talk on Stroke Prevention. The Chair Yoga class made several of us step out of our comfort zone.

But fret not, if you missed some of these. Our spring line up is just as exciting. In addition to our regular events, look out for notices about our Cinco De Mayo and Board of Directors Election, a trip to Celebrity Dairy Farms for a visit with Baby Goats (last year we witnessed 2 births), Wine Tasting and Dinner and Bananas Foster at Rougarou.

Activities are posted on the Club Calendar, and typically open for registration 3 weeks in advance of the event.Signing up for an interest group will ensure you receive an email notification when an event is announced/opened for registration.

We are always looking for new and fun activities, for volunteers to host or coodinate events. Reach out to our Activities VP - Donna Hatcher or our Sounds Like Fun driver, Delcine Drayson. Our reach out to any of the members of the Board and they will guide you to the right person.
